Ethiopia has provisionally agreed on new rules that state speed limiters will become mandatory for all vehicles sold throughout the country.

Road Speed Limiters were developed to improve safety and the environment by controlling the speed of vehicles, thus reducing serious accidents and pollution. The basic function of the system is to limit the maximum speed of a vehicle to a pre-set level without affecting any of the performance of the vehicle.
